Green Conferences

Are you planning a conference? Here are excellent opportunities for green conferences.

Holken offers functional venues for up to 250 participants. The venues boast wonderful daylight and a beautiful view of the playground towards Mariebergsviken. All conference rooms are equipped with flip charts, whiteboards, notepads, pens, fresh water, sweets, and fruit, as well as access to a projector, sound system with microphone, and wifi. Options to book lunch and coffee breaks with organic and locally sourced ingredients are available.

During conferences, we can offer our guests a variety of activities such as visits to the kitchen garden, train rides, mini golf, Lillskogen, guided tours, Naturum Värmland, or why not try Walk and Talk? The beautiful environment of Mariebergsskogen provides the best conditions for a walk and to continue the conference at the same time.

There are also opportunities for companies or associations to rent Holken for meetings, theater performances, fairs, dances, or dinners (catering).

Adjacent to the main entrance, there is a large free parking lot, bicycle parking, and a bus stop.

Food and Refreshments

For morning coffee, sandwiches made with our own bread are usually a hit, and in the afternoon, the Värmland cake with buttercream on a chocolate meringue base and hazelnuts is tempting. We always serve organic and Fairtrade certified coffee and tea.

For lunch, we recommend our vegetarian soup with homemade bread.

For us, it is natural that everyone should be able to enjoy the food, and we are used to baking and cooking with variety, for example, without sugar, gluten, eggs, or milk, and of course vegetarian or completely vegan dishes.

Activities

Sometimes you need a break for new ideas to flourish. We offer many different activities that we can tailor to suit your needs.

How about combining your conference with a guided tour of the animals in Lillskogen, meeting the gardener in the Children’s Kitchen Garden, or challenging colleagues to miniature golf or a quiz walk? There are experiences for all senses here!

Acksjöns Kapell

A light and beautiful chapel that is popular for christenings and weddings all year round.

Spikgården

During the winter, Spikgården can be hired in the day for parties of max 40 people.

Holken

A spacious venue that holds dances several times a week. Hired out to companies and clubs only.

Friluftsteatern

Sweden’s oldest open-air theatre with seating for 966 people. Contact us for more information.

Visit Naturum Värmland

A visit to Naturum Värmland offers new experiences of nature. Guided tours, both indoors and out, provide a chance to discover the wildlife of Värmland and the big beasts of prey. We also have tours of the visitor centre’s exhibition, the waterside meadows and the old forest.

Tickets

Many of our events are free or sometimes you may need to buy tickets on site. Some concerts, theatre performances and children’s shows are booked via Scalateatern.
