Mariebergsskogen sprawls just over a kilometer south of the city center, nestled by one of Karlstad’s many inlets of Lake Vänern. It’s easy to find, with plenty of free parking available outside the gates.

By Car via E18

Take the exit towards the hospital at Klara Interchange. Follow the signs for Mariebergsskogen.

Walking from Karlstad Central Station

Head west along Hamngatan, then take a left under the viaduct onto Klaraborgsgatan. Follow Kvarnbergsgatan all the way to Mariebergsskogen.

By Bike

There are excellent bike paths leading to Mariebergsskogen from several directions. Bike parking is available outside the gates.

By Värmlandstrafik (Public Transport)

Line 10 departs from Stora Torget. Mariebergsskogen is the last stop on the route.
Line S also departs from Stora Torget and stops at Wennbergsparken, 600m from the main entrance.

By Boat Bus, Lines 91 & 94

In June, July, and August, you can take the boat from the city center or Skoghall to Mariebergsskogen and back. The boat buses operate like regular public transport, and the fare is the same as for buses. For current information on boat buses, visit varmlandstrafik.se.
